Working With Students

It's good to have a plan and lay out some ideas when you start working with students* - teaching them how to channel or teaching them other things because it's in the nature of your work of communications with all this inspiration from these wonderful Beings that you'll get other teaching. You'll learn other things especially if you're personally interested in learning them so you might wind up teaching things that go beyond channeling, if you choose to teach channeling at all.

Have a plan. Of course you don't have to be rigid in your plan but have some kind of a plan where you have certain things that are foundational elements. Such as, if you're working with a student, that you're both respectful of each other. You notice I said both. You respect the student and the student respects you.

So communications are respectful though from time to time they'll get excited or feelings will come up but there needs to be respect and forgiveness needs to be there if there's ever outbursts - and forgiveness on both sides would be helpful.

Then also it will come up from time to time that you will want to ask the student questions about themself. This is to help you to know how to work with them and they must be truthful in their responses. If there's something too personal and they don't want to say then they can say that to you. If you need to know what it is then you can ask the Beings that you channel. They may tell you in some way what you need to know.

The students will of course be asking questions very frequently and sometimes they'll ask personal questions because they'll just be interested or other students will and they'll listen if you have a class.

I'm bringing these things up at times like this because this is the kind of thing that can come up and very often you'll already have an idea in mind - what you're going to do, what you're going to need in directing the students but I'm assuming that if you're here reading this that you're open to suggestions.

So those are two main things that I feel are important. The reason it's important to write these things down and to make a plan with notes to yourself is that you will not always remember.

Sometimes a student might approach you and is already well on their way spiritually and it's fun to work with them and you might forget some of these foundational principals and so it's good to have it written down so that you can remind yourself - especially when you get older like me :)

I mention this because people don't always realize that you are older if you're communicating at a distance these days and that will come up in our modern communication lifestyle eh?

So of course it's also good if you could have an assistant but for all of you, you won't always have that. For most of my time doing this work I haven't had that and it would be nice but sometimes even an assistant - even if they're temporary - great - if they're full time - great but not always does the assistant communicate with students the way you know that they need to be communicated with in that moment.

So you do the best you can and you are grateful for the help you receive - you know these things.

That's all I'm going to say today. I just wanted to bring that up to you since I felt it's important.

You Can Still Be Yourself

Now you're going to run into an issue that's a little bit annoying and that's that people are going to want you to be the Beings that your channeling or they're going to expect those qualities out of you. So I want to give you permission right now that you can have your own personality.

Now I know I've touched on this before but in order to support you from being overwhelmed with this I just want to say, once you get going in this work and get well established, sometimes people will want - literally - or expect or hope that you really are that which you are channeling.

Try to remember and this is something you really could benefit taking to heart I believe, that there's a tendency within peoples to create almost like a hero-worshipping situation in which even though they might know that you cannot be that, that they want you to be that.

So - there may be times when you will use your inspiration to communicate, especially after a session when you're still sort of in an altered state. You might sort of float through a question and answer period that you might have or you might sort of interact with people.

If you're a Deep Trance Channel you're going to need to have a little distance - meaning that people are to stay away from you and not move around and to also be quiet when you're first getting started to come out of the channeling - so that you can come down, so to speak, on to your own level of personality - not that you're a lesser being - but so that you can be yourself. It's really important to allow yourself to be yourself. Please take that to heart.

You're not always going to be perfect. You're going to be a human being like everybody else. Sometimes people within earshot of you being a human being are going to be shocked or upset or judge you for that. They may have ideas in their mind that they got from other people or that they simply have come up with themselves that they expect you to be above all of that but in reality, just like others who have been placed on a pedestal - even temporarily - people may at times get disappointed that you're just a regular gal or a regular guy - okay?

Please allow them their disappointment. Don't try and talk them out of it because in order to be accepted as yourself it is a good thing to have a distinct difference between your day to day personality and the Beings you're channeling - okay? That's all I'm going to say about that now.
